God is Moving in Our Endeavors
Michelle started work for Southern Piedmont Materials on Thursday, 10/27/2022 as our Chief People Officer (CPO), the day that God told her to start. Starting on Thursday is a little different for an HR professional especially given the fact that over her 16 years in HR, employees start on Monday. But as a group, we are adamant that we listen for and follow instructions from the Lord. So, if He says start Thursday, then she starts Thursday. As part of her job, she also supports our charitable foundation, Southern Piedmont Kingdom Builders Inc. Part of our daily workday is set aside for fellowship and talking about what we are individually hearing from God. That time includes going for walks together, so on Friday, her second day, Michelle, Susan, Steve, and the dogs set off on walk, talking about this exciting new adventure that God had sent us on. As we worked our way past the pond, a little before 9:30, Michelle’s husband, Mike sent us all a link to the daily verse on the YouVersion Bible app we all use. We have a WhatsApp Group set up for the four of us, aptly named “Get Used to Different!”. The verse of the day on the Bible App is the same for everyone using the app for the entire day. Mike had checked the verse of the day and thought we should all read it, so he sent the link to use with the graphic showing John 15 9-11 NIV. One by one our phones dinged with the notification that we each had a new message. Things were about to get interesting as God sent us a powerful message.
Susan was the first to click the link and she read the verse out loud.
John 15: 9-11 NIV
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
However, Michelle was looking at a different verse after clicking the link, so she tried it again. And again, she had a different verse, so she read out loud what she had received.
Matthew 10: 9-11 NIV
9 “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep. 11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave.”
So now we were a little puzzled, so Steve clicked the link and read aloud the verse that he received.
Psalm 23: 1-6 NIV
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
We were astonished that this had happened, it has never differed in the past. We each spoke out the verse we saw and looked at each other in astonishment. When we tried to duplicate it again, each of us got the verse of the day, John 15: 9-11. Was God sending us a message? He was indeed, He was sending us a message of comfort, and verifying that we were working for Him.
The message we received was “if you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, and your joy may be complete” “Do not get any gold or silver to take with you, for the worker is worth his keep”, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing, I will fear nothing”.
He is commanding us to be Kingdom Builders. He will provide the resources we need, He will make sure we lack nothing, so do not fear. He said Gold and Silver. We have two projects we are working on the Verbena Project, and the Amparo Mexico Project. Verbena is full of Gold, and Amparo is full of Silver.
